This page is intended to explain SpecSearch policies clearly for vendors, engineers, contractors, architects, and other platform users.

Overview

This Acceptable Use Policy explains how users, vendors, and visitors may use SpecSearch. It is designed to protect vendor content, technical documentation, restricted files, user accounts, and platform availability.

Acceptable Use

SpecSearch may be used for legitimate engineering, design, construction, procurement, operations, sales, product management, manufacturer, and related business purposes.

  • Discovering and reviewing product information.
  • Downloading or requesting authorized product files.
  • Managing authorized vendor catalogs and company profiles.
  • Sharing accurate manufacturer-approved product documentation.
  • Using analytics to understand product interest and engagement.

Prohibited Use

You may not use SpecSearch to:

  • Access accounts, files, systems, or data without authorization.
  • Upload malware, harmful code, spam, or deceptive content.
  • Scrape, harvest, or bulk extract platform data without permission.
  • Misrepresent your identity, company, authority, or affiliation.
  • Upload content that infringes copyright, trademark, or other rights.
  • Publish intentionally inaccurate, misleading, or fraudulent product information.
  • Interfere with platform security, performance, availability, or integrity.

Vendor Content

Vendors are responsible for ensuring that uploaded product information, images, PDFs, drawings, CAD files, BIM files, specifications, and related materials are accurate and authorized for publication.

Restricted Files

Restricted files may only be requested, accessed, downloaded, or used for legitimate business, design, engineering, construction, procurement, maintenance, or manufacturer-approved purposes.

Enforcement

SpecSearch may remove content, restrict access, suspend accounts, or take other appropriate action if use of the platform violates this policy, creates security risk, infringes rights, or harms platform integrity.
