Last updated: June 2026

Plain-language policy notice

This page is intended to explain SpecSearch policies clearly for vendors, engineers, contractors, architects, and other platform users.

Overview

These Vendor Terms apply to companies and representatives that create, manage, upload, publish, or approve product content on SpecSearch.

Vendor Content

Vendor Content includes company profiles, logos, product names, descriptions, specifications, images, PDFs, CAD files, BIM files, drawings, manuals, brochures, performance data, and related materials.

Vendors retain ownership of their Vendor Content.

License to SpecSearch

By providing Vendor Content, you grant SpecSearch a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, store, display, index, organize, search, preview, thumbnail, analyze, and distribute that content through the platform.

This license allows SpecSearch to operate product pages, search results, file previews, vendor profiles, analytics, restricted file request workflows, and future engineering intelligence features.

Accuracy and Maintenance

Vendors are responsible for ensuring that their product information is accurate, current, complete, and authorized for publication.

  • Remove or update obsolete products.
  • Maintain accurate technical specifications.
  • Verify code, safety, and compliance claims.
  • Ensure uploaded files are the correct revision.

Restricted Files

Vendors may designate certain files as restricted. SpecSearch may provide tools for requesting, approving, denying, or tracking access, but vendors remain responsible for deciding whether access should be granted.

Analytics

SpecSearch may provide vendors with analytics related to product views, file downloads, restricted file requests, user engagement, and similar platform activity.

Analytics are intended to support sales, marketing, product management, and customer support workflows.

Prohibited Content

Vendors may not upload content that:

  • Violates copyright, trademark, or other third-party rights.
  • Contains malware or harmful code.
  • Is misleading, fraudulent, or intentionally inaccurate.
  • Violates applicable laws or regulations.

Termination

SpecSearch may remove Vendor Content or suspend vendor access if content violates these terms, creates security risk, infringes rights, or harms the integrity of the platform.
